Students Rebuild

Wednesday, January 11 at 7 pm

Join our Students Rebuild team for the Welcoming Refugees Project! You will channel your creativity to welcome people displaced by war and other crises by creating postcards that will be sent to young refugees around the world. You will earn 1 hour of community service by participating.

Teen Think Tank

Tuesday, January 31 at 4 pm

Join our Teen Think Tank to have your voice heard in the library and brainstorm with us! We’d love to hear your community service ideas and how we can better serve Oceanside teens. You will earn 1 hour of community service by participating.

Seasonal Art for the Oceanside Senior Center

Wednesday, February 15 at 7 pm

Help us make art to brighten the Oceanside Senior Center. You will earn 1 hour of community service by participating.

Send a Smile Today Take & Make

See Tuesday, January 3

This is a Take & Make project to spread some positivity to those with cancer. Register to receive a card-making kit. A librarian will email you when your kit is ready for pickup. Earn 2 hours of community service.

Brittany’s Baskets of Hope

Brittany’s Baskets of Hope make and deliver baskets to celebrate the arrival of babies with Down syndrome that feature information and guidance for the parents and gifts of love and joy for the babies and their siblings. Please help us celebrate these special children with your donation of baby supplies. Earn 2 hours of community service for each bag of supplies. Maximum of 2 bags total for 4 hours.

Golden Paw Society Cat Food Collection

Golden Paw Society rescues shelter cats across Long Island. They are in need of cat food, specifically Friskies or Fancy Feast. You will earn 1 hour of community service for every 5 cans you donate. Maximum of 3 hours for 15 cans.

Cards for the Little St. Nick Foundation

Use any craft supplies you have at home to make homemade cards. Click here for suggestions on messages to include. Make 5 cards for 1 hour of community service. Maximum of 3 hours total. Return completed cards to the Teen/Adult Librarian Desk to receive community service credit. A certificate will be emailed, so be sure to attach your name and email address.

Book Review Submissions

Contribute to our new Teen Bookstagram by reviewing a book you recently read! Click here for details and for the Google Form to submit your first review.  You can submit a maximum of 2 reviews per month for 1 hour of service each.
