Students Rebuild

Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00 pm
Registration Required.

Join the library’s Students Rebuild team for the World Needs Challenge! This year’s challenge is to design posters to amplify the messages you care about. For every poster created during this program, the Bezos Family Foundation will donate $5 to programs meeting global needs. We meet monthly!

You will receive 1 hour of community service.

Join our Teen Think Tank to have your voice heard in the library and brainstorm with us! We’d love to hear your community service ideas and how we can better serve Oceanside teens.

The Teens & COVID-19 Project

Use this community service opportunity as a creative outlet to share your thoughts and experiences related to the pandemic.  Share your story via written piece, photo journal, piece of artwork, or any other creative work. Earn 2 hours of community service. Email  with any questions and with your completed work.

For Teens, By Teens Videos

Do you have a craft that you’d like to share with your peers in the community? Record a video of you making a craft project for any age group. The video should be a maximum of 5 minutes and will be uploaded to our YouTube channel. Please do not use any background music. Send your completed video and/or any questions to gtrinchetta@oceansidelibrary.com.

You will receive 2 hours of community service.

Book Review Submissions

Contribute to our new Teen Bookstagram by reviewing a book you recently read! Click here for details and for the Google Form to submit your first review.  You can submit a maximum of 2 reviews per month for 1 hour of service each.

Cards for The Little St. Nick Foundation

Make cheerful cards for children in hospitals. All cards will be given to the non-profit organization The Little St. Nick Foundation. The cards will be included in special bags that this organization delivers to children in hospitals. Use any craft supplies you have at home to make homemade cards.

Drop off cards at the library at any time during normal hours. Make 5 cards to receive 1 hour of community service. Maximum of 3 hours total. Click here for suggestions on messages to include.
