Dr. Seuss & Friends Day Volunteers (Grades 7-12)

Volunteers will help us celebrate Dr. Seuss and Friends Day by assisting the Children’s Room with crafts and activities. Earn 4.5 hours of Community Service.

Sunday, March 3 11:30 am – 4pm

Community Service for the Oceanside Senior Center (Grades 7-12)

Join us as we make bookmarks for the Oceanside Senior Center. Receive 1 hour community service.

Monday, March 4 at 7 pm

Students Rebuild (Grades 7-12)

This year’s challenge is about protecting our environment. Join us in making art that reflects saving our planet and earn 1 hour of community service.

Monday, March 11 at 7 pm

Onesies to Donate (Grades 7-12)

Pick up your kit and create adventure themed onesies for babies in need. Earn 1 hour of Community Service. Onesies to be returned by March 22.

Love Letters for Literacy (Grades 7-12)

Create a set of the Alphabet on index cards to be donated to children in need. Receive 1 hour of community service. You will receive an email to pick up supplies for this program.

Pillowcase Project for Shelters (Grades 7-12)

Learn basic sewing skills and make a pillowcase for the Enchanted Makeovers organization.

Saturday, March 30 from 11 am – 1 pm

Send a Smile Today (Grades 7-12)

Make uplifting greeting cards to be sent to cancer patients across the United States. Email for instructions on how to participate.

March 1-31

Poem in Your Pocket Project (Grades 7-12)

Decorate an index card with a meaningful, uplifting poem that will go into library books throughout the building. Spread positivity through poetry! Email to participate.

April 1-30

Social Media Submission (Grades 7-12)

Create a BookTok or Bookstagram post to contribute to our social media pages and get your peers excited about reading! See the image to the right as an example. Email Gabriella at to submit.

Ongoing Opportunities for Grades 9-12

Teen Ambassador Program (Grades 9-12)

Earn community service hours by helping the library to better serve teens. Develop leadership skills by becoming a library advocate in our community! You will earn service hours by attending monthly meetings and working on special projects. These projects could include anything from designing flyers to helping plan larger-scale community service events in the community.

Teen Tech Helpers (Grades 9-12)

Do you love technology? Are you the go-to person when there is a home tech problem? Want to make a difference in your community? Build your resume and gain valuable experience while earning community service? Apply to be a Oceanside Library Teen Tech Helper.
