Have your Library Card prepared for you on the spot at our Welcome Desk.
Nassau Library System offers Oceanside residents the option to register for a library card online, providing immediate access to things like eBooks, audiobooks, live tutoring, digital magazines, language courses, test prep, and more!
If you currently have an Oceanside Library card but can not find your barcode number, please visit the Welcome Desk or call us at (516) 766-2360, option 0. Staff can reconnect you with your barcode number, renew your card if it has recently expired, and help you reset your PIN.
If your card has expired or you can not find it, click below to get a temporary digital card. You can do almost everything with your temporary card. You may also contact the Library at 516-766-2360 and dial 0 for the Welcome Desk where staff can assist you during library hours.
If your card has expired, you can call the Welcome Desk at 516-766-2360, option 0 to get an expiration extension. For a full renewal, you must come into the library and show your ID to Welcome Desk staff.
When logged into your account, you can: view the items that are checked out on your card; renew certain materials; and view, place, and cancel physical item requests.
By clicking the Edit Account button you can: modify your PIN; add or modify your email address; add a mobile number to receive SMS messages; and opt-in or out of keeping track of your reading history.
The app is available on any iOS, Android, or Kindle tablet device.
*Note about PINs: If you did not create a PIN when you signed up for your card, you can create your PIN the first time you login. Simply leave it blank the first time, click submit, then enter it two times when prompted to select and confirm the number. Be sure to write it down so you don’t forget it! If the system tells you that you already have a PIN, but you don’t remember it, you can call the Welcome Desk and have your PIN reset.
Click here to view a printable PDF of both these instructions.
Please note, If any previously checked-out items are removed from the library’s holdings, you will no longer be able to view that item.
Your Reading History only keeps track of physical items from the library and not digital ones through Libby. If you would like to view your previous digital checkouts, you can do so in the Libby app.
Fines are still applicable on lost or damaged items as well as items that have been interloaned from another library.
Patrons may pay library fines in excess of five dollars online using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card.
Please note, this service does not currently accept American Express or debit cards.
To receive email and/or SMS Alerts for Reserve, Courtesy & Overdue Notices, login to My Account, click “My Account” in the mid-section, click “Edit Account” beneath your name, fill out the form, and submit.
Note: All digital checkouts will be automatically returned when the loan period expires. You can extend your loan via Libby 3 days prior to the due date if there is no waitlist for the item.
