December: The Beginning and The End

December holds a special place for being a month with a beginning and an end. It marks the beginning of winter with the winter solstice and the end of autumn.  The month begins the holiday season with decorations and festivals, and ends on the last holiday of the year with parties and the New Year’s Eve ball drop.

The month starts with apple cider and ends with champagne.  December is usually the month when we begin to make our shopping lists and goals for the New Year, and it ends with handing out the last gifts and reflecting on our accomplishments from the past year.

So during this time of beginnings and endings let us take time during this month to begin to think about what we would like to achieve in the New Year and end this month appreciating all we have accomplished in this past year.
