Greetings from Youth Services! The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and we are packed with wonderful programs and activities! Get ahead of the game and take a look at our May/June Newsletter to prepare for registration on April 21st.
I am most excited to share that Oceanside Library will be unveiling our very own StoryWalk® at Oceanside Park this May! This StoryWalk® is a collaborative project between the Youth Services Department, Friends of the Oceanside Library, and the Town of Hempstead. Oceanside Park will be home to special posts and frames, with alternating picture books each season. These weather resistant posts will feature engaging stories sure to inspire some reading and moving, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery. We hope that this community project will bring the love of reading to all who visit Oceanside Park!
I’d love to extend my sincerest thank you to our wonderful Friends of the Oceanside Library group, without their support, this project would not have been possible! Join us at the end of May at Oceanside Park for the official launch of the StoryWalk®. Keep an eye (and ear) out for the official date and time!
To get ready for our StoryWalk® , be sure to check out some delightful spring-tastic book recommendations courtesy of the Youth Services Department.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier Vermont.
Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
