Celebrate Indigenous Long Island in November and beyond!

During Indigenous History Month, explore the expansive history and enduring culture of Long Island’s indigenous heritage. With over 13,000 years of history, the Shinnecock Nation, which was federally recognized in 2010, continues to preserve and maintain its cultural resources to this day.
