Exciting News...RBdigital Magazines was purchased by OverDrive so all of RBdigital's digital magazine titles are now  available in OverDrive via Nassau Digital Doorway.  Here's what you need to know:

You will be able to use both platforms to check titles out until Wednesday, March 31.

Magazines will be available to borrow through the OverDrive or Libby apps once you have logged into your Nassau Digital Doorway account.

Kindle app users will either have to view magazines in a browser or in the OverDrive or Libby apps on a compatible device.

Individual magazine issues will check out for 21 days with no need for reserves or a wait to borrow an issue.

Individual magazine issues may be checked out multiple times with no restrictions.

Magazine borrows will not count against any Nassau Digital Doorway limits.

Where possible, there will be 3 years of back issues available.

At this time, you will not be notified that there is a new issue of a magazine title available.  You will have to check out each issue separately.  OverDrive is looking into changing this.

If you have checked out titles in the past from RBdigital, you will be able to retrieve them through the Zinio app (Apple, Kindle, or Google Play) or by going to zinio.com and signing up for an account using the same email address that you used for RBdigital.

Getting Started With RBdigital Magazines:

RBdigital Magazines is a digital library newsstand, offering access to over 3,000 full-color, interactive digital magazines.  You can browse the library's collection of popular titles by visiting the site.  Each issue is offered with no holds, no checkout periods, and no limit to the number of issues you can download.  NOTE: If you had previously signed up for Zinio For Libraries and/or downloaded the Zinio For Libraries app, once you download the RBdigital app, simply use the same username and password.

  • Current issues: New issues are released simultaneously with the print edition and are ready for immediate download.
  • Easy browsing: Browse your library's collection of titles one at a time, by title, by language, or by category
  • Collection management: Check out magazines and manage your collection on your library collection site.
  • Instant reading: Read within your library collection on your computer (both PC and Mac).
  • Convenient apps: Download checked-out magazines to a free library read-only app for iPad, iPhone/iPod Touch, Android and Kindle Fire/HD/HDX.
  • No limits: Check out as many issues as you want and keep them in your account indefinitely.

Creating An Account:

  • From the Library’s RBdigital Magazines page, click on “Create New Account” in the upper left corner of the screen.

  • Enter your 14-digit Oceanside Library barcode number and click “Next.”

  • Enter your First Name, Last Name, a Username, and a Password.  Passwords must contain both letters and numbers.  When ready, click “Create Account.”

  • Upon entering the collection, you will see a message “Welcome (Your Name)” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.  You are now logged into the collection.

  • Magazines are arranged alphabetically by title.  To check out the current issue, click on the plus sign underneath the magazine cover OR you can click on the magazine cover to see what back issues are available for checkout.

  • After checking out a magazine, you can either keep browsing for additional issues, read your checked out magazine immediately in your web browser (you must have internet access to do so), or get the RBdigital Magazines app for iOS, Android, or Kindle.

  • At the checkout screen, you have the option of being notified by email whenever a new issue of your selected magazine is available.

  • You can keep your magazines as long as you like but please note, each issue ranges in size from 50-300 MB per issue so you may want to delete titles after you read them.  When deleting an issue, click on “My Collection” while logged in and click on the trash can icon beneath the issue.
